The primary remit for this position is associated with the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. Continual improvement and standardisation of associated monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems forms a core component of this role. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant statutory provisions, codes of practice, good practice and industry guidelines and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks. This position will be based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to our offshore and onshore sites as required. Key Responsibilities Include: Work with medic/HSEAβs and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying the hazard category, hazard, health impact, route of entry and required exposure monitoring/health surveillance program required Deliver occupational hygiene plan associated with exposures and health risks related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic factors including but not limited to: Hazardous Substance Management and associated COSHH risk assessments Chemical workplace exposure monitoring (e.g., natural gas condensate β benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene; mercury; lead; chromium III & VI; solvents; cement-based products; welding fume; toxic gases) Asbestos Management and associated surveys, registers including material and priority risk assessment scores and exposure assessments Noise Management and surveys, exposure assessments Vibration Management, tool tagging/registers, exposure assessments Ionising and non-ionising radiation management and assessment of contamination/exposure Thermal hazard assessment Potable water management Communicable diseases, mould & spores, animal and insect hazards, DSE, fatigue β’ Recommend and design appropriate control strategies β’ Monitor and evaluate control strategies (e.g., LEV/PPE/RPE testing & inspection) β’ Deliver occupational hygiene training (e.g., asbestos awareness, dust procedures, PPE/RPE use and maintenance) β’ Conduct inspections and audits to ensure occupational health standards across sites, including welfare and food areas. β’ Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.
