Microsoft D365 CE Lead Consultant at HCL Technologies

HCL Technologies\’ Microsoft Business Applications Practice (MBAP) is seeking a Microsoft D365 CE Lead Consultant to join their award-winning and growing team. The Lead Consultant will collaborate with client business users to gather requirements and work with HCL’s Microsoft CE team of Architects, Consultants, Developers, and Testers for solution delivery.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Microsoft Dynamics CE implementation projects and a good understanding of end-to-end implementation lifecycles. They should be confident communicators and coordinators, capable of managing stakeholders at all levels, and experienced in leading teams of consultants, owning elements of functional design and delivery.

Essential Functions

1. Participate in developing and mentoring Associate Consultants to build CE consulting capabilities.
2. Contribute proactively to the CE practice by delivering accelerators, enhancing methodology, tooling, and creating strategic differentiation.
3. Evaluate business processes and prepare detailed requirements and process maps.
4. Analyze client requirements to determine how software can best meet their needs.
5. Convert requirements into functional specifications and design documents.
6. Configure, test, and demonstrate all aspects of D365 CE.
7. Handle System Acceptance Testing, System Integration Testing, End User Training, UAT, Cutover, and Go Live.
8. Create and lead functional and solution design documents.
9. Develop detailed project scope documents, including estimates and schedules.
10. Work with project managers to manage risks and issues.
11. Lead functional workshops, document requirements, and design solutions.
12. Collaborate with the Education Team to deliver training for super users and end users.
13. Assist technical consultants with system architecture, customizations, and reports.
14. Lead internal sessions on best practices and new features.
15. Advise customers on CRM best practices and user interface components.
16. Work with the sales team on tender responses, estimates, and demonstrations.
17. Possess domain skills in industries such as Financial Services, Public Sector, Housing, Education, or Healthcare.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Ability to balance short-term demands with long-term strategic guidance.
2. Leadership skills for managing functional teams across multiple projects.
3. Hands-on experience with multi-phase, global Dynamics 365 implementations.
4. Broad industry knowledge and strong analysis and communication skills.
5. Demonstrated methodology and functional capabilities leadership.
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams.
7. Experience mentoring junior team members.
8. Flexibility and capability to work in process-oriented environments.
9. Extensive professional experience in IT consultancy.
10. Hands-on experience as a CE functional lead or senior consultant.
11. At least 8 full lifecycle Dynamics 365 implementations.
12. Expertise in modules like Sales, Service, Marketing, Social Engagement, USD, PSA, Field Service, CRM Gamification, or MS Portals.
13. Experience with SharePoint integration and Azure DevOps.
14. Excellent client-facing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Visio.
15. Ability to work on Agile and Waterfall projects.
16. Strong understanding of Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, CDM, and PowerBI.
