4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapy and gene editing platforms. We are currently looking to recruit a proactive and skilled Microsoft 365 Systems & Network Administrator based at our head office in Over, just North of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK. This role is critical in supporting our GMP-compliant operations, ensuring secure and efficient management of our Microsoft 365 environment, network infrastructure, and core systems. You will work closely with the Head of IT and Level 1 support staff to maintain business continuity, implement security policies, and provide second-level technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Manage identity and access using Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Entra.
- Configure and maintain Intune policies for endpoint management and security compliance.
- Oversee VPN, firewall, and network infrastructure (e.g., switches, Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN).
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and GMP regulatory requirements.
- Monitor system performance and respond to security incidents and alerts.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Provide technical support and escalation point for complex incidents.
- Document systems, configurations, processes, and compliance procedures.
- Collaborate on infrastructure improvement projects and system migrations.
Person Specification:
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in a similar IT Systems Administrator or Network Administrator role.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
- Solid knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID management.
- Hands-on experience with Intune, Endpoint Manager, and device compliance policies.
- Network administration knowledge: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs under Unifi deployments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and risk mitigation.
- Experience working in a GMP or regulated environment is a strong plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
