As a Mechanical Technician with a leading waste-to-energy facility, you will be responsible for executing reactive and PPM maintenance across all process, building, and site systems. This role requires a Mechanical Technician with a recognized apprenticeship and extensive experience in heavy industrial environments.

This company is a leader in waste-to-energy management, operating 30 sites globally and commissioning a new state-of-the-art site in Essex with a billion-pound investment. You will work in a rewarding role that challenges you technically and involves launching and maintaining the new site.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Fault finding, planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical machinery
  • Delivering services within an IMS environment
  • Executing planned and unplanned shutdown activities
  • Working with a 'safe system' of work in a permit-regulated environment
  • Supporting external maintenance service providers

Your profile:

  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND with significant heavy industry experience
  • Proven maintenance experience in complex operational environments (Oil & Gas, Recycling, Sewage, Cement, Petrochemical, Heavy Industry)
  • Knowledge of Boilers/Furnaces and/or rotating equipment
  • Experience with Cranes and Heavy Lifting
  • Knowledge of SAP (desirable)
