My client is looking for 5 x M&E Construction Managers to be based in London starting asap
Summary
Reporting to the Project Manager, responsible for managing and coordinating all the workings at a job site including that of a crew of trades, apprentices, and labourers.
Establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project, and organise and coordinate all project materials and equipment.
Ensure that all work installed is completed in accordance with our clients standards. All work will be completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
As a key member of the team, the Construction Manager will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values of integrity, dependability, safety, pride, and quality.

- Knowledge of the team’s strengths and weaknesses
Roles and responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for health and safety on site
- Leading by example – setting, monitoring, and enforcing safety standards and exemplary quality of work
- Supporting the Project Manager to manage and supervise on-site personnel
- Assuming leadership on site regarding the work being carried out and following & implementing the site safety plan & rules
- Ensuring employees have relevant training and expertise to carry out their work safely and professionally
- Managing labour resources on site for efficient work
- Completing and submitting timesheets accurately and on time
- Liaising with payroll regarding site queries
- Maintaining discipline on site, reporting incidents, and taking appropriate action
- Managing and training apprentices according to relevant training standards
- Assisting the Project Manager in planning labour and material resources
- Using the purchasing system to acquire materials cost-effectively
- Keeping all plant maintained and secure; off-hiring plant when finished
- Reducing costs wherever possible
- Checking all materials before installation for suitability and compliance with specifications
- Assisting in system handovers to the client
- Advising the project manager of work outside the tender scope
- Reporting any work impediments by others to the project manager
- Performing other reasonable tasks assigned by the manager
- Producing lookaheads for upcoming work based on current information
- Carrying out drop line reporting and assisting with risk identification and readiness
- Chairing formal meetings with subcontractors, project staff, directors, and clients
- Prioritizing workload effectively
- Recognizing personal strengths and weaknesses, committed to ongoing development
- Accepting responsibility and accountability
