The Machine Shop Manager is a key member of the operational leadership team responsible for leading a team of machinists (CNC, Milling, Lathe, Sawing, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in machining and manufacturing processes, including sawing/cutting, CNC milling, lathe machines, and EDM.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with quality requirements and procedures, support audits, and resolve issues as needed.
  • Read and produce technical drawing specifications.
  • Contribute to operational planning and ensure turnaround times are met.
  • Maintain a strong focus on On Time Delivery (OTD) to achieve financial targets.
  • Control departmental spend by collaborating with suppliers for the best prices and regularly review processes to reduce wastage.

Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, BEng) with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of workshop safety, management, and processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience as a machinist or similar role.
  • Proven leadership skills, adaptability, and a quick learning ability.
