Job Description:
Market Leading Construction firm are looking for a Construction Buyer to join their procurement function as a result of the many recent projects they have won. As a Construction Buyer for this business, you will be involved in significant high-profile project-based work and have the ability to influence at a strategic procurement level while making major strides in your own procurement career.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of sub-contract procurement on a project-based level, navigating through NEC3 & JCT contracts.
- Have the opportunity to progress into a management position and develop someone in the construction procurement space.
- Work autonomously to deliver major construction projects in a timely manner for a best-in-class procurement function.
- Maintain a high level of standards while delivering to pressured time frames of creating and implementing strategic plans.
Required Background:
- A career with a main infrastructure contractor, showing examples of progression and key achievements within this environment is ideal; however, other backgrounds will be considered.
- Some exposure to taking the lead on NEC3 related projects; JCT experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent); CIPS qualification is preferable but not essential.
- Ability to work on a project-to-project basis, juggling key stakeholder relations and delivering to strict time frames.
