IGA Talent Solutions are partnered with a mid-size pensions and insurance consolidation vehicle. The company was set up to acquire back books from insurance and pension providers, and has enjoyed an impressive level of consistent growth over the last 15 years, both organic and inorganic. As the business continues to acquire, assets under management are growing in both size and complexity. As a result, they are looking to expand the team that is responsible for overseeing all investment activity and ensuring the underlying funds manage their performance, risk levels and governance requirements to the highest standard.
We are looking for an individual relatively early in their investment career to join the team. Although we are only seeking individuals with 2 - 5 years of experience, there is a good opportunity to take on responsibility in this position, acting as the number 2 to the head of the team.
In the role you will be responsible for:
- Building relationships with outsourced asset managers, acting as the day to day contact and collaborating with relevant internal teams (finance, actuarial, legal & risk)
- Monitoring investment performance across all asset classes and strategies, inputting into the unit pricing process and analysing performance relative to benchmarks
- Identifying deviations or risks and reporting back to senior stakeholders
- Preparing performance reports
- Contributing to large change projects, including movement of assets between managers, onboarding and offboarding of assets and implementing new technology solutions
- Tracking and monitoring risk & compliance activity, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and limits (internal and external)
- Helping to refine and evolve the investment oversight process over time, always seeking to develop their ways of working
The ideal candidate will have a solid academic background with a relevant degree, be making progress to some form of professional qualification (CFA, CAIA, FIA, ACCA/CIMA preferred) and have experience in a similar role. They will be detail focused, with a passion for investments and delivering at a very high standard.
In return, the firm are offering direct 1:1 mentoring from some very experienced industry practitioners, the opportunity to step up quickly into a position of responsibility, wide exposure to a variety of stakeholders (including well-known asset managers) and the chance to contribute to the ongoing development of the team. Career progression opportunities are available and supported. The team work in a remote manner and this position can be based from anywhere in the UK. If you would prefer hybrid, they have offices in London, Bristol and the North West you can work from as many days a week as you would like.
