Job Description:
A well-capitalised and entrepreneurial lower mid-market private equity fund, focused on investing in profitable, founder-led and family-owned businesses across the UK and Europe. The firm specialises in complex deal dynamics β including succession planning, carve-outs, and professionalisation plays β with a hands-on approach to value creation.
The fund has a strong track record of delivering growth through operational improvement, strategic repositioning, and buy-and-build. As part of its thematic focus, the firm is scaling its activity in the Technology and Tech-Enabled Services space, and is looking to hire a high-calibre Investment Director to support this build-out.
The Role
- The Investment Director will play a senior role within the investment team, working closely with the Partner leading the tech sector. Youβll lead on sourcing, executing, and managing deals across the technology landscape β bringing commercial judgement, relationship-building skills, and execution horsepower.
- This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the technology sector, thrives in a deal-led, fast-moving environment, and brings a strong track record in the tech/growth space.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the fundβs technology investment strategy alongside the Partner responsible for the vertical
- Lead the origination of new opportunities across tech and tech-enabled businesses β including building founder relationships and thematic sourcing
- Take ownership of end-to-end deal execution β managing diligence workstreams, coordinating advisors, leading modelling and valuation, and negotiating terms
- Act as a day-to-day lead on portfolio companies, driving board agendas, tracking KPIs, and supporting growth initiatives
- Contribute to internal strategy, pipeline development, and sector mapping
- Act as a mentor to junior team members, supporting their development and execution capability
Candidate Profile
Core Experience:
- 8β10+ years of relevant experience in private equity, growth capital, or M&A with strong tech exposure
- Demonstrable deal track record in profitable, sub-Β£100m EV businesses
- Strong financial and commercial skillset β able to assess business models, market dynamics, and value creation drivers
- Solid exposure to deal execution, ideally leading workstreams or full deals end-to-end
- Familiarity with the mid-market ecosystem (advisors, intermediaries, operators, consultants)
Ideal Attributes:
- Credibility with founders and management teams
- Comfortable in a hands-on, non-hierarchical environment where you roll your sleeves up
- Genuine interest in technology and an intuitive understanding of how value is created in recurring revenue or digital-first models
- Strategic and analytical, with the confidence to push a point of view internally
