Our client is a leading consultancy business with approximately 1,200 staff across multiple sites. They are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support cutting-edge hardware, software, and infrastructure technologies. This role involves a mix of 3rd Line/infrastructure support and system maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate must be flexible, agile, resourceful, and possess excellent communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer include:

  • Collaborating with the Service Desk team on escalated issues, providing support, and sharing knowledge
  • Administering and maintaining network and infrastructure systems
  • Managing VMware infrastructure and SANs
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting server and network performance
  • Creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, manuals, and procedures
  • Conducting site visits as required
  • Applying knowledge of Information Security to safeguard company data and systems from threats

Ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Security Infrastructure
  • Cyber Security best practices
  • Windows Desktop environments, including the latest Windows versions
  • Windows Server OS
  • Networking systems and services
  • Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Information Security best practices
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery systems
  • On-premise Active Directory and Cloud Entra ID environments

Additional beneficial experience includes:

  • Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune for software and OS deployment
  • Sophos systems such as Cloud management, MDR, Firewalls, and Access Points
  • Cloud hosting platforms like Microsoft Azure and Cloud Antivirus
  • Apple iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS technologies
