Job Purpose: As a Lecturer in Health and Social Care at our institution, you will design, develop, and deliver teaching materials for undergraduate students. This role involves ensuring high-quality educational experiences, aligning with institutional standards, contributing to research and practice, guiding students, supporting field activities, and fostering collaborative learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Development: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars across core modules. Develop and revise curriculum materials aligned with industry standards and guidelines. Apply varied teaching techniques to meet diverse student needs.
  • Student Assessment & Support: Supervise student projects, internships, and placements. Develop assessment methods and provide timely feedback. Support students academically and pastorally, connecting them to resources.
  • Research & Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities and collaborate on research projects. Publish findings and seek research funding. Establish links with health and social care providers for placements and community projects. Represent the institution at relevant conferences and networks.
  • Administrative & Quality Assurance: Manage academic duties such as admissions, timetabling, and records. Ensure course content and delivery meet quality standards and contribute to reviews and accreditation.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Master's degree in Health and Social Care or related field; PhD preferred. Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one; PGCert desirable.
  • Experience: Teaching or training in higher education; practical sector experience preferred; research engagement advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and sensitivity to student needs.
