Job Purpose:
As a Lecturer in Health and Social Care, you will design, develop, and deliver undergraduate teaching materials, ensuring high-quality educational experiences aligned with institutional standards. You will also contribute to research, guide students, and support collaborative learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars on core modules.
- Develop and revise curriculum materials to meet industry standards.
- Apply diverse teaching techniques to cater to student needs.
- Student Assessment & Support:
- Supervise projects, internships, and placements.
- Create fair assessment methods and provide feedback.
- Support students academically and pastorally.
- Research & Scholarship:
- Engage in scholarly activities and research projects.
- Publish findings and seek research funding.
- Establish links with health and social care providers.
- Represent the institution at relevant conferences.
- Administrative & Quality Assurance:
- Manage academic duties such as admissions and assessment records.
- Ensure course content complies with quality guidelines.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Master\’s in Health and Social Care or related; PhD preferred. Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one.
- Experience: Teaching at higher education level; practical sector experience preferred; research engagement advantageous.
- Skills: Strong communication, adaptable teaching methods, sensitivity to student needs.
