THE ROLE
The Head of Production oversees the end-to-end production process at Strathberry, from SMS sample approval to final product delivery. This role ensures that all goods are produced to the highest quality, on time, and at the right cost, while managing supply chain relationships and driving efficiency across the production function.
Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position based in London or Edinburgh. We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with a minimum of 3 fixed days required each week working from our London or Edinburgh City Centre locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management
- Lead the production process to ensure timely delivery and exceptional quality of all products.
- Manage the critical path from SMS to bulk production, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Oversee production capacity planning, lead-time management, and supply base flexibility.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining margin targets and product excellence.
- Maintain and enhance partnerships with external production partners to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
- Build and maintain relationships with raw material suppliers and manufacturers.
- Negotiate MOQs, pricing, and delivery terms in alignment with commercial goals.
- Evaluate suppliers regularly on performance, capacity, and sustainability practices.
- Ensure production partners meet ethical and sustainability compliance standards.
- Lead and develop the Production team to deliver operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and training to develop skills and improve output quality.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising to align production plans with demand forecasts.
- Partner with Product Development and Design teams to resolve technical production challenges.
Sustainability & Compliance
- Champion ethical production practices and support the integration of sustainable manufacturing solutions.
- Monitor and drive improvements in environmental and social governance within the production supply chain.

ABOUT YOU
To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in production or operations within the luxury goods or fashion sector, preferably leather accessories or handbags.
- Strong knowledge of leather materials, artisanal production techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g. Spanish or Italian) advantageous for supplier communication.
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits.
