Operating a renowned global motorsport business with state-of-the-art facilities at home and winning performances around the globe, M-Sport UK provides the engineering expertise behind an award-winning range of competition cars and has become an industry leader with success across some of the industry’s most acclaimed motorsport series.

The drive to deliver championship-winning machinery is what excites and strengthens our Engineering Team; and the key to our continuing success starts with you having influence throughout the core procedures of all our vehicles – from concepts and original designs to running test programmes and defining the means to enhance maximum performance.

We love what we do, and passion drives our success.

THE ROLE

With our business growing, we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Customer Engineering to join our team. Reporting to the Customer Programme Manager, responsible technically for one of M-Sport UK’s motorsport projects, the Head of Customer Engineering will lead a team and apply engineering knowledge and principles to devise innovative solutions to unique problems.

This role will require the individual to provide technical leadership and line management to the team, coordinating and overseeing their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring timescales, KPIs, and deadlines are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering innovative engineering solutions from initial concepts through to production.
  2. Support the Programme Manager in achieving business targets.
  3. Ensure the car complies with FIA technical regulations.
  4. Mentoring and leading Junior Engineers.
  5. Creating high-quality technical documentation and details of technical upgrades and releases to the customers.
  6. Identifying potential performance or reliability improvements.
  7. Managing project workloads to suit defined deadlines.
  8. Providing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve the project and product performance.
