The role is within the GWR eCommerce team, focusing on selling products and merchandise across the business, starting with our engaged community. The Global Supply Chain Manager oversees and optimises end-to-end supply chain operations worldwide, managing and expanding our fulfilment network with partners across paper, merchandise, and digital sectors. This role ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and coordination among suppliers, fulfilment partners, distributors, and customers. Key focus areas include demand planning, stock management, supplier relations, logistics, and e-commerce operations aligned with GWR's strategic goals. We seek a proactive individual willing to be hands-on, utilising analytics, industry best practices, and innovative solutions to elevate supply chain performance and advance our eCommerce business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, manage, and negotiate relationships with suppliers and fulfilment partners, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, communication, and compliance.
  • Lead contract negotiations for eCommerce fulfilment, collaborating with the Director of Production and Distribution on paper-printer contracts.
  • Serve as the daily contact for all print, merchandise, and digital partners.
  • Negotiate pricing and renew contracts.
  • Source new suppliers and expand contacts in new territories as needed.
  • Coordinate with the global product team on new product development, sourcing, specifications, costs, and production.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Manage invoicing processes with Finance to ensure accuracy.

Demand Forecasting, Stock Management & Logistics

  • Develop demand forecasting models to optimise inventory and order fulfilment.
  • Use data insights to improve efficiency, forecast demand, and identify bottlenecks.
  • Oversee stock management to balance supply and demand across locations and channels.
  • Drive logistics strategies for global fulfilment, 3PL management, and D2C operations.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, manufacturing, and marketing teams to meet business goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • At least 5 years of experience in global supply chain, logistics, procurement, or e-commerce.
  • Knowledge of international trade laws and compliance.
  • Ability to manage operations across multiple regions (US, EU, UK, Japan, China, India, UAE).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional skills include a strong understanding of supply chain principles, effective communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership, project management, willingness to travel, and experience with ecommerce systems and data tools.
  • Background in FMCG, retail, or ecommerce, and experience with print-on-demand and large retail customers are preferred.
