As a product manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering technology solutions to financial markets globally. The role is based in London and involves working in a dynamic global team with other technologists and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
Key Attributes
- Experience as a product manager or business analyst in financial institutions, preferably in the front office with strong product acumen . Product ownership experience is useful.
- Proactively engage, manage, and build strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Take ownership of technology deliverables from high-level requirements through development, testing, and deployment.
- Good understanding of Agile processes and frameworks; flexibility to wear the Scrum Master hat based on team’s demands.
- Identify risks and issues early, plan mitigating steps, and communicate these to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into quality technology solutions.
- Provide ongoing support to technology teams as required, e.g., authoring/reviewing test cases, closing open issues/questions, managing change requests.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical skills:
- Sound business analysis skills : documenting business requirements and user stories, liaising with stakeholders, and translating them into specifications for development & testing.
- Experience with Agile and traditional software delivery methodologies.
- Certifications such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or PMP are a plus.
- Knowledge of derivatives from FX, Rates, Commodities, and/or Credit, including trade lifecycle, pricing, risk analytics, and market data.
- Finance degree or certifications (FRM/CFA/PRM, etc.) or market and credit risk understanding is a plus.
- Functional expertise in asset classes like Interest Rates, Commodities, FX Derivatives, Credit, or Structured Products.
- Substantial technology delivery and management experience (minimum 10 years), at least part of which is in the financial markets domain.
- Quantitative finance understanding, experience with analytics libraries and pricing models.
- Experience with large-scale financial markets platforms, e.g., Sales Dealer systems.
- Experience leading cross-departmental teams to delivery; project management experience is a plus.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across different time zones.
- Technical background beneficial, including knowledge of programming, scripting languages, architectures, data stores, and messaging.
- Understanding of change management processes in financial institutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills .
- Process-oriented with strong facilitation skills.
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and with initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple concurrent assignments.
