Linedata is seeking an experienced Business Analyst - Fixed Income SME to join our dynamic team in Boston. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for fixed income products and solutions, collaborating with internal teams and clients to drive the development and optimization of Linedata's software offerings for fixed income markets. You will bridge the gap between the business and technology, ensuring that our solutions meet the complex needs of fixed income clients, and help guide the direction of our products to enhance functionality, scalability, and performance.
About the Role
- Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering
- Act as the primary fixed income subject matter expert (SME), providing deep knowledge of fixed income asset classes, trading strategies, risk management, portfolio management, and related processes.
- Gather and document detailed business requirements from clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with their business objectives and translating them into actionable technical specifications.
- Work closely with product management and development teams to prioritize features, define user stories, and ensure clear communication of business needs for product enhancements.
- Conduct gap analysis between current functionality and client requirements, identifying areas for improvement or new product capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key fixed income clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their business and technology needs.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their fixed income workflows, challenges, and strategic goals, offering tailored solutions using Linedata’s platform.
- Lead product demonstrations, workshops, and training sessions to enhance client understanding and adoption of fixed income solutions.
- Support client user acceptance testing (UAT) for new features and product releases, ensuring that solutions meet client needs.
- Provide input into the product roadmap, offering insights into market trends, client needs, and competitive offerings within the fixed income space.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., development, product management, quality assurance) to ensure that product releases are aligned with fixed income market requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in fixed income markets (e.g., fixed income analytics, risk management, regulatory changes) and integrate these insights into product planning.
- Work closely with technical teams to design solutions for complex fixed income workflows, including portfolio construction, order management, risk analytics, and compliance.
- Identify and drive process optimization initiatives for fixed income clients to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with evolving market regulations.
- Provide ongoing product support to clients, troubleshooting issues and recommending enhancements or optimizations to improve the user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in fixed income markets, regulations, and trading technologies, particularly related to asset management and investment management systems.
- Monitor competitor products and provide insights into market positioning, opportunities, and threats.
Skills And Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in a business analyst role or similar position, specifically within the fixed income or asset management industry.
- Strong knowledge of fixed income instruments (e.g., bonds, derivatives, structured products) and related investment strategies.
- Familiarity with fixed income trading platforms, portfolio management systems, risk analytics, and compliance regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams and engage clients effectively.
- Ability to analyze complex financial concepts and translate them into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a client-centric approach.
- Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with Linedata's Asset Management or similar financial software platforms is a plus.
