Job Description:
My client is an established Real Estate Finance Lender looking to recruit a Finance Director or an experienced Financial Controller who is ready to step up into their first FD role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with external accounting providers to prepare timely monthly and annual management accounts.
- Ensure accuracy in all accounting records and the application of appropriate accounting policies.
- Review and approve annual financial statements for all entities.
- Manage relationships with external accountants (TC Group) and auditors (MacIntyre Hudson).
- Coordinate annual financial audits and handle all tax and VAT matters.
Management Accounting
- Lead the preparation of monthly forecasts and analyze performance against budget.
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc financial analysis across income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- Prepare annual budgets and 5-year business plans, including sensitivity analysis and stress testing.
- Oversee the financial aspects of strategic business planning and cost management.
Banking and Cashflow Management
- Manage the company’s treasury, funding strategy, and liquidity.
- Ensure availability of funding and monitor business cashflow.
- Lead weekly cashflow meetings with the senior management team.
- Oversee transactional banking operations, payment processes, and banking relationships.
Company Secretarial
- Oversee all company secretarial tasks in collaboration with external service providers.
- Ensure compliance with governance and documentation requirements under company law.
Funding and Reporting
- Prepare quarterly financial packs including actuals, forecasts, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with the Capital Director to maintain accurate Portfolio Performance Reviews (PPR) and IPD reporting.
- Support drawdowns and redemptions with Senior and Junior funders.
- Regularly forecast financial covenants and flag potential risks.
Leadership and Management
- Present financial KPIs and commentary at monthly management and quarterly board meetings.
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the CEO or other senior team members.
- Lead cross-departmental projects and contribute to organizational strategy.
What you will Bring:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA) with over 10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in a similar role within a real estate finance or Private Equity-backed business .
- Demonstrated leadership in financial operations, planning, and risk management.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial regulations and industry practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and the use of financial software.
Salary: up to £150k (depending on experience) plus bonus
