A beautiful clothing brand that is rapidly growing is expanding their Design Team and is looking for talented individuals at both Assistant and Junior Designer levels. The ideal candidate will have multi-category clothing exposure, be confident in managing their own product areas, identifying key trends, and overseeing at least one other team member. You will have at least two years of experience working with SME, brand-led fashion companies, possessing strong product knowledge, a keen eye for detail, and a well-rounded skill set. The brand is looking for someone who is adaptable and open to new challenges rather than being too narrowly focused on one area. You’ll work across WW, MW, and Accessories, contributing to brands in their portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design team in creating trend-led, multi-product designs across categories.
- Execute design briefs set by the Design Manager and Head of Product.
- Conduct in-depth trend research, producing competitor shop reports, trend flashes, and key item analyses.
- Assist in planning and designing commercial ranges, managing the full process from concept to technical development while ensuring alignment with brand pricing architecture.
- Prepare and maintain technical design files, CAD sheets, and updated spec sheets, sharing these with factories.
- Source fabrics and trims from suppliers and factories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with factories and suppliers, advising on direction, construction, key details, and materials.
- Work closely with the production team, ensuring all comments and approvals are completed within 24 hours of receiving samples.
- Attend weekly fit sessions, supporting the team in refining product designs.
- Prepare for sign-off meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the buying and technical teams, ensuring all designs align with the wider business strategy.
- Manage daily tasks and follow critical paths & key deadlines to ensure timely execution.
Skills Required:
- Experience at either Assistant or Junior Designer level.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for design with the ability to work at pace in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop are essential.
