ESG REC are working with a rapidly expanding management consultancy who are looking to recruit an ESG Manager to support the growth of their ESG and sustainability advisory practice within the financial services sector. With significant investment and growth plans, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with a finance consulting background and ESG reporting experience to join a forward-thinking company where you can take ownership and influence the direction of their business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with audit teams on technical matters.
  • Update ISSB technical gap analyses and draft related policies.
  • Conduct and document ISSB materiality assessments, ensuring compliance with guidance.
  • Set up a technical interpretation forum and prepare supporting papers.
  • Develop technical checklists covering TCFD, CFD, ISSB, HKEX, Companies Act, and contribute to ARA25 drafts.
  • Support responses to key ESG regulatory consultations (e.g., ISSB UK adoption, Basel Pillar 3, EFRAG simplification).
  • Assist with ISSB adoption reviews and gap analyses across multiple countries.
  • Design tailored ESG reporting frameworks and Target Operating Models, integrating digital and organisational strategies.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking on ESG best practices.
  • Deliver ESG training for C-suite, boards, and internal teams.

Qualification:

  • Qualified accountant with finance consulting experience in financial services.
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks such as TCFD, TNFD, ISSB, EFRAG, and SEC.
  • Sustainability and climate risk certifications are a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, banking audit, or sustainability assurance.
  • Strong track record in ESG transformation and financial reporting projects.
  • Background in banking or insurance via consulting or internal roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and commercial development.
  • Solid programme and project management capabilities.
