Purpose and impact: To work with business and technology teams to drive the right strategic technology decisions for the organization, ensuring their use of technology is proportionate and fit for purpose. To assist in forming the IT Roadmap as part of the Strategy & Architecture team, aligning the technology strategy with business strategy in consultation with service owners. To create models of business architecture, data architecture, and information systems architecture to support Enterprise Architecture and technology goals. To ensure proper governance of new technology introduced into the estate and the application of best practices to architectural decisions.
Accountable to: The role is accountable to the Head of IT Strategy & Architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with stakeholders in the business, including up to Director level, to understand business roadmaps and collaborate with the Architecture team on aligning the IT roadmap with these roadmaps.
- Produce Enterprise Architecture artifacts such as Business Capability maps, Data models, and Systems diagrams to model and document business areas and supporting systems.
- Maintain a broad, organization-wide view of technology and business needs, balancing stakeholder concerns and guiding strategic decisions for the organization.
- Contribute to and help maintain the Enterprise repository of information, including systems landscape maps, data models, and enterprise applications catalogues (e.g., LeanIX).
- Collaborate with other Architects to ensure seamless integration of Enterprise and Solutions Architecture practices.
- Support Solution Architects with information, guidance, and check-ins throughout the architectural lifecycle.
- Contribute to governance by assisting in the development of Architecture Principles, Policies, Rules, and Standards.
- Foster an open, positive culture within the technology department, encouraging new ideas and ways of working.
- Mentor and support the growth of junior Architects within the team.
- Maximize personal productivity, reduce duplication and errors, and manage information securely using Office 365 and internal IT systems.
