The Role
Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about employee relations and fostering a fair, consistent, and people-focused workforce? We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our friendly HR & OD team. This role involves delivering high-quality, customer-focused ER services, providing professional advice on employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, and attendance issues. You will help improve HR policies and practices, shaping a modern approach to people management. You will work closely with a Senior HR Advisor, HR & OD Apprentice, and external partners to support service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to influence change, support cultural development, and contribute to our People & OD strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage employment policies and casework processes
- Facilitate informal resolutions when appropriate
- Coordinate with shared service operations and RBK requirements
- Ensure governance and management of terms, conditions, and contracts
- Handle casework, including hearings related to workforce issues and mental health wellbeing
- Identify risks related to ET claims and financial exposure
- Monitor investigation timelines and escalate delays
- Support service improvement, training, and culture initiatives
- Review and develop HR policies and operational processes
- Provide specialist HR advice across departments
- Recommend improvements and identify risks and opportunities
- Oversee formal HR casework management
Skills & Experience
- Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent experience
- Experience advising managers in unionized environments
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience managing complex ER casework and organizational change
- Professional, solutions-oriented approach
The role may require occasional flexible working with prior notice to attend events or meetings.
