Electrical Superintendent (Cruise) – Permanent – London – Excellent package
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major cruise line based in the UK. The company is experiencing a sustained period of growth and expansion, making this an ideal time to join.
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting operations involving the maintenance of the ship’s electrical equipment, facilities, and systems, including propulsion and PMS.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and overseeing all electrical technical activities related to the management and operation of owned vessels.
- Conducting ship visits to ensure vessels are maintained to high standards and comply with current regulations and company standards.
- Ensuring reports and repair specifications are accurate and reflect the condition of the ships, with all repairs completed to the required standard.
- Coordinating dry-dock activities arising from the electrical maintenance program.
- Reviewing and updating electrical maintenance schedules based on ship survey findings.
- Managing maintenance costs within approved budgets and financial guidelines.
- Analyzing and approving technical specifications for new builds, vessel refits, and repairs, including attending FATs.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of ten years’ relevant experience, or at least six years as a superintendent or similar role onboard cruise ships as 1st ETO or Chief Electrician.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, including High Voltage (11.0 kV, 6.6 kV), 440V, 220V, 24V, 12V, and electronics.
- Strong planning, organization, delegation, and control skills.
- Deep understanding of high voltage safety protocols.
- Willingness to travel worldwide onboard.
- Excellent English language skills; additional languages are beneficial.
Ideally, candidates will have the right to work in the UK, but sponsorship is possible for exceptional candidates. The role offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
