Electrical Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineer – Submarines, Swindon
This role is based in Swindon, United Kingdom, and involves working on submarine EC&I systems for the Dreadnought and SSNA programmes. The engineer will be responsible for designing, integrating, and supporting control and sensor systems for reactor plants, collaborating with internal and external teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing C&I, power systems control, and sensors products
- Integrating sub-systems and defining commissioning strategies
- Specifying requirements and working with vendors to meet them
- Verifying final products against design requirements
- Managing requirements through product maturity gates
- Supporting build and commissioning issues with shipbuilders and vendors
Qualifications:
- Degree in electrical/electronics systems engineering or equivalent
- Member of a professional engineering institution (e.g., The IET)
- Experience in architecture design, V&V, requirements analysis
- Background in power/control electronics, sensors, or systems engineering
Desirable skills include experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), proactive work ethic, and knowledge of NSRP electrical systems.
