As Business Development Lead, you will be expected to conduct yourself with the utmost professionalism and show strong leadership. Your main focus will be Business Development for the client, as well as supporting the internal team. This means leading by example, motivating people, and helping them develop to reach their full potential. Being a Subject Matter Expert in climate change and sustainability, you'll also take the lead in developing and maximising the contract and consultancy experience for our clients. You'll also take on the role of Leader and Solution Oversight on client projects, supervising and managing consultants, senior and assistant consultants to ensure our clients achieve their goals. Furthermore, you'll be actively seeking and pursuing business opportunities to support the organisation's growth and strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Development
- Taking a proactive lead in spotting opportunities.
- Developing and delivering business growth initiatives.
- Writing bids, developing proposals, and responding to tenders.
- Engaging with clients, potential clients, and partners.
- Promoting the business through social media posts (e.g., LinkedIn).
- Developing and presenting case studies/lessons learned from projects to clients.
- Contacting sub-contractors and client contacts regarding their projects to identify further opportunities.
- Managing large client accounts, reporting to the relevant Senior Leadership Team member.
- Effective liaison with senior staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Supporting the Leadership Team with business initiatives.
- Undertaking business development activities and ensuring effective client interaction.
- Assisting with bids and securing new work.
- Representing the company at conferences, client dinners, corporate events, and exhibitions.
- Managing and supervising technical resources and staff.
- Setting strategic direction and implementing it within the team.
- Maximising utilisation levels of service stream consultants.
- Line management of staff, including managing workloads and objectives.
Office attendance would be occasional, with offices in Bristol and London.
