About our client
Our client is a leading global investment bank with a top-tier Natural Resources platform. As part of their expansion, they are seeking a seasoned Director or Managing Director to join their Oil & Gas Investment Banking team, advising major industry players on M&A, capital markets transactions, and strategic initiatives across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management : Serve as a trusted advisor to upstream, midstream, downstream, and integrated oil & gas companies, maintaining and expanding senior-level relationships.
- Origination and Execution : Lead origination efforts for M&A, equity, debt, and structured finance transactions. Oversee deal execution from pitching to closing, ensuring best-in-class client outcomes.
- Strategic Advisory : Advise clients on portfolio optimization, decarbonization strategies, asset monetization, and energy transition initiatives.
- Team Leadership : Manage and mentor junior bankers and deal teams, fostering a high-performance, client-first culture.
- Market Intelligence : Stay ahead of commodity market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging energy transition opportunities.
- Cross-Platform Collaboration : Work closely with product partners (ECM, DCM, Leveraged Finance) and sector teams to drive integrated client solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a leading university; MBA, CFA, or other relevant postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of investment banking experience with a proven track record leading complex transactions within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Extensive experience advising on cross-border M&A and capital raising transactions.
- Deep sector knowledge across upstream, midstream, downstream, LNG, and energy transition segments.
- Strong origination capabilities and an existing network within the oil & gas sector.
- Excellent financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring skills.
- Highly strategic, commercial, and client-focused mindset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
