We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial and Contract Manager to oversee the entire tendering, contract management, and supply chain processes for a dynamic project. This role will involve working closely with engineering and package management teams to ensure successful project execution, cost savings, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tendering and Contract Award Process: Lead the full tendering process in collaboration with the Package Manager and Engineering teams. Oversee the commercial aspects of tenders, including conditions of contract. Manage prequalification processes and ensure commercial elements align with project requirements. Engage with stakeholders to ensure tender and contract terms match scope and deliverable requirements. Benchmark and assess tender offers for competitiveness and viability. Lead robust pricing negotiations with bidders to achieve the best value. Represent the negotiation team during bidder discussions and manage negotiations effectively. Work with Legal teams when necessary to resolve tendering and contract issues. Perform detailed commercial evaluations of tender bids and collaborate with teams to produce contract award recommendations.
- Contract Management: Actively manage contractor claims and variations. Identify and explore cost-saving opportunities within contracts through value engineering. Maintain contractual obligation registers and ensure both internal teams and contractors meet their obligations. Oversee contractor payment applications and liaise with Package Managers to ensure payment terms are met. Ensure adherence to processes with document control teams, and work closely with finance and legal departments for policy alignment. Contribute to commercial risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with open-book tendering processes to deliver the best value for the project.
- Commercial Administration of Projects: Deliver against commercial objectives, ensuring cost savings for assigned project packages. Prepare and update CAPEX and OPEX Costing Forms. Support Project Controls teams in budget monitoring, forecasting, and reporting. Contribute commercial insights to monthly package progress reports.
- Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to refine and submit the Supply Chain Plan. Represent the organization at external events, fostering relationships with local suppliers and encouraging their support for the project.
