Commercial Manager – NEC or JCT Frameworks
A leading organization in the Civil Infrastructure industry is expanding its Commercial & Procurement team. They are on the lookout for experienced Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Cost Engineers, or Quantity Surveyors with a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects using NEC and JCT contracts across all stages (pre-, mid-, and post-contract).
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Strategic Contract Management: Manage contracts and procurement activities to ensure efficiency and competitiveness.
- Supplier Negotiations: Lead negotiations with suppliers pre- and post-contract, ensuring the best value throughout project lifecycles, especially those related to capital expenditure.
- Best Practices Implementation: Research and incorporate industry best practices to strengthen the company’s commercial strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as governance, project management, and controls to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Framework Management: Oversee contract management at the framework level, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Expertise in NEC & JCT Contracts: Extensive experience with NEC3, NEC4, and JCT contracts.
- Commercial & Procurement Knowledge: Strong experience in contract management, procurement, and project delivery, especially in large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Multi-Project Experience: Proven ability to manage several simultaneous infrastructure projects, meeting tight deadlines and satisfying high stakeholder expectations.
- Industry Experience: A background in construction, specifically in managing and improving existing assets, is highly desirable.
- Stakeholder Management Skills: Excellent communication and strategic development skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Public & Private Sector Flexibility: Experience in either sector is welcome, though a preference is given to roles in large infrastructure projects.
