As a CDP, you will be part of a team of up to 12 staff, assisting the Sous Chef in preparing meals for approximately 250 students and staff, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. You will help manage the house menu, food production planning, purchasing, and stock control. You will contribute to menu development, cleanliness, and general kitchen housekeeping.

Shift Pattern Overview:

  • 5 days over 6, alternating between 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 11:30 AM–7:30 PM
  • Closed Sundays
  • Every third weekend off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the house menu, food production, and purchasing within budget
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards
  • Manage stock effectively to minimize waste and stay within budget
  • Maintain health and safety standards, including food safety regulations
  • Train and develop the kitchen team
  • Ensure compliance with uniform and PPE policies

Outside of Term Time:

The school is contracted for private lettings and international student programs during Easter and summer schools.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent culinary skills and experience in a similar role
  • Passion for food and excellence in delivery
  • NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent (desirable)
