As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking an experienced Certification & Compliance Manager to take ownership of our global product certification and compliance strategy, with a particular focus on fire and smoke door ratings and life safety standards.

Role Description

This is a critical leadership role, ensuring Kingsway’s specialist doors and hardware meet the stringent national and international standards required for market access, safety, and risk mitigation.

You will be the subject matter expert on fire, smoke, and life safety certifications, driving compliance excellence across UK, US, and global markets, while supporting product innovation and commercial success.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Compliance, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in certification and compliance management, ideally within the door, hardware, building products, or safety-critical industries.
  • Proven expertise managing certifications for fire doors, smoke doors, and life safety products, with practical experience in UL (North America) and UKCA/CE processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as:

UL 10C, NFPA 80 (US)

BS 476-22, EN 1634-1, BS EN 13501-2 (UK/EU)

BM TRADA Q-Mark, Certifire, ADA compliance.

  • Experience engaging with testing laboratories, notified bodies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, capable of handling multiple certification programs concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all business levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with a commercial awareness of how certification impacts product strategy, market access, and risk management.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
