Emles BioVentures is a cutting-edge scientific research organisation committed to accelerating and supporting innovative approaches that have the potential to significantly improve human HealthSpan and longevity. Our mission is to push the boundaries of science to uncover groundbreaking discoveries that can transform how we age and enhance our overall well-being. We are now launching our own laboratories to continue to drive forwards our research programmes. The purpose of the laboratory is to develop novel biomarker assays to enhance health monitoring, which have the potential for commercialisation. In parallel, we run ‘omics assays as a service for academic, biotech and biopharmaceutical clients.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for our proteomics facility. This includes building and maintaining relationships with key clients, developing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth. The role requires someone with a commercial background in proteomics, familiarity with key technologies and service workflows, and the ability to position our offering effectively in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the biopharma, biotech, and academic sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in target organizations.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the client base and meet revenue targets.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and deal closure.
Client Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for potential and existing clients.
  • Work closely with scientific and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored proteomics solutions.
Market Insights & Strategic Growth
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer demands, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to enhance the service lab’s commercial reach.
  • Gather customer feedback to drive continuous improvement of proteomics offerings.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
  • Work closely with scientific teams to align services with market demands.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop outreach campaigns.
  • Provide business insights to senior leadership for growth planning.
Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Proteomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with proteomics service workflows and analytical platforms.
  • 2+ years in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the proteomics, life sciences, or CRO sector.
  • Proven ability to sell proteomics services and bring in new business.
  • Strong background in customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Solid understanding of proteomics applications in drug discovery and research.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific solutions into commercial value.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Well-connected within the proteomics and biopharma community.
  • Aware of regulatory and compliance considerations in the field.
