Job Description:

Full Time – or Part Time options considered. Would suit an architect, engineer or built environment sustainability professional.

Who are we?

The Concrete Centre, part of The Mineral Products Association, provides guidance to enhance the use and sustainability of concrete in construction. Our sector employs 80,000 people, generating £22 billion annually, and producing 400 million tonnes of material yearly, representing the largest material flow in the UK economy.

The Role:

Support and promote the use of concrete and masonry in construction, influencing standards, procurement, and developing guidance to promote sustainability in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and sustainability advice to designers, specifiers, constructors, and clients involved in concrete and masonry projects.
  • Develop relationships with influential organizations and stakeholders to promote sustainable design and construction.
  • Prepare and deliver technical guidance and advocacy presentations on sustainable concrete use.
  • Contribute to industry initiatives like the UK Concrete Sustainable Construction Strategy and the UK Concrete and Cement Roadmap to Beyond Net Zero.
  • Monitor and report on emerging issues in the built environment relevant to concrete industry responses.
  • Promote innovation and best practices in manufacturing, design, and construction of concrete.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Experience and knowledge of sustainable design and construction with concrete and masonry, supporting a lower carbon and circular economy.
  • Professional qualification from a recognized body, with active participation at various levels.
  • Experience in detailed design and construction involving concrete and other materials.
  • Understanding of stakeholder roles, policy, standards, and regulations in construction.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, planning processes, and Life Cycle Analysis for buildings.
  • Ability to deliver technical and promotional presentations to industry professionals.
