The Role

  • As a Bridging Underwriter, you'll play a crucial role in assessing and approving short-term loan applications secured on residential and commercial property.
  • You’ll be responsible for managing cases from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring that all loans are underwritten in line with risk appetite, policy, and regulatory standards.
  • Underwrite bridging loan applications from start to finish within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments on borrowers, assets, and exit strategies.
  • Review valuations, credit reports, legal documents, and KYC/AML data.
  • Liaise with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to facilitate completions.
  • Make sound credit decisions and present cases to credit committee where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with lending policy and regulation.
