We are seeking a Business Capture Manager to join our client's Business Development & Proposals team. This role primarily focuses on bid management, capture activities, and supporting the development of wider Business Development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full bid process, including work breakdown structures and technical solution development.
  • Create winning bids to capture new business opportunities.
  • Develop bid strategies and operational concepts to support proposals.
  • Produce bid proposals and associated plans.
  • Manage customer relationships to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Lead cost estimation and pricing processes for approval.
  • Review bids and manage the bid team effectively.
  • Ensure high-quality standards in final bid submissions.
  • Coordinate with Design & Engineering teams during the bid lifecycle.
  • Assist in the selection process of subcontractors and suppliers, collaborating with Quality, Technical, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Commercial Managers to produce scopes of work and commercial proposals.
  • Support Marketing and Business Development by providing technical information.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Participate in Gate Reviews and proposal reviews, including preparation and presentation of documentation.
  • Hand over successful bid packages to the Deployable Infrastructure team.
  • Maintain accurate bid status and tracking information.
  • Coordinate with various departments including HR, Supply Chain, Finance, and QHSE.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with proven bid/capture experience.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proactive and flexible approach within an expanding team.
  • Experience in setting bid strategies, planning, and managing bid processes.
  • Track record of delivering bids ranging from £500K to £50M.
  • Commercial and estimating expertise.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with MoD bids and understanding of UK MoD contracting processes.
  • Good technical engineering background.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus.
