Role Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the delivery of a safe, efficient, and resilient Baggage System, which is a critical infrastructure within the airport. You will be responsible for the performance, safety, reliability, and availability of the baggage handling infrastructure, leading a maintenance team and managing third-party stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Baggage Engineering team to execute maintenance plans effectively.
- Ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement of the baggage asset base, meeting operational metrics.
- Promote a strong EH&S culture to minimize incidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including airline teams and handling agents, through reports and updates.
- Manage costs and contracts to adhere to the operational budget.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in engineering preferred; HND with significant experience accepted.
- Proven proactive leadership promoting health and safety culture.
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams in a similar environment.
- Ability to ensure system performance meets or exceeds operational metrics.
- Experience leading failure investigations related to baggage systems.
