Our global consulting client's Strategy function continues to grow, and they are seeking an exceptional individual to join as a Senior Manager / Assistant Director in their Retail, Consumer, and Leisure team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in commercial due diligence, deal strategy, and private equity. Additional experience in growth strategy, cost and operational strategy, and enterprise-wide transformation is also valued. Exceptional managers with approximately 2.5 to 4 years of experience at this level will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team and maintain a high-quality, credible reputation with clients and in the market, with experience in M&A projects like Commercial Due Diligence, M&A Strategy, and Value Creation.
- Design and manage mid-sized to large projects and complex workstreams.
- Serve as the primary client liaison and represent the firm professionally.
- Deliver high-quality, client-ready outputs with minimal review.
- Develop solutions for complex problems and challenge senior colleagues and clients.
- Guide junior staff in executing detailed financial and business models, including scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Identify market opportunities and take responsibility for client engagement.
- Maintain contact with mid-level clients outside of projects.
- Drive thought leadership and knowledge management activities.
- Ensure adherence to the firm's risk management frameworks.
- Seek leadership opportunities and act as a role model within the team.
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
- Lead practice development initiatives.
Person requirements:
- Extensive experience in strategy consulting, Big 4 firms, or industry-specific Corporate Development teams.
- Strong understanding of the Consumer sector's value drivers, including Consumer Goods, Retail, Travel, and Leisure, with insights into future trends.
- Experience in managing mid-sized and large projects, including work planning, team structuring, and delivering excellent client outcomes.
- Recent transaction experience such as CDD, VDD, M&A Strategy, or Value Creation in the Consumer sector.
- Proven ability to design proposals, scopes, and pricing for consulting projects.
- Proactive in business development, including creating pitches, generating insights, and maintaining client relationships.
- Effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills for junior staff.
- Experience in internal practice development activities like team management, training, and technical tool development.
