About the Role: Join Forestry England and contribute to sustainable land management, climate change mitigation, and nature recovery. As an Assistant Area Land Agent, you’ll support estate management across a diverse portfolio of forests, properties, and visitor sites. You’ll work closely with Area Land Agents and multidisciplinary teams on varied surveying and land management tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support management of Forestry England’s non-forest estate, including staff and budgets.
  • Handle lease negotiations and renewals for commercial, residential, agricultural, sporting, and telecom properties.
  • Contribute to commercial and environmental project planning and delivery.
  • Assist with land transactions, legal matters, and protection of Forestry England assets.
  • Provide rural property advice and support building maintenance programs.

Requirements:

  • Chartered (or working toward) RICS membership, preferably in Rural practice.
  • Experience in estate management, land transactions, and legal/valuation matters.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of planning law and compulsory purchase procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; full UK driving licence required.

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week (3 days). Salary is pro-rata.
