Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. You will provide practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
- Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
- Manage compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and network policies.
- Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
- Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
- Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes, focusing on legal and regulatory issues.
- Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Provide practical advice balancing risk management and business needs.
- Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
- Mentor junior team members.
About You:
- UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant law firm or relevant in-house experience.
- Strong legal expertise in leading complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
- Proficient in negotiating, drafting, reviewing agreements, and advising across jurisdictions.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with teams.
- Balance the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
- Self-motivated, thriving in a dynamic, global stakeholder environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
