My client is looking for an assistant editor to join the team that produces its suite of RadCom publications and manages its news desk. The successful candidate will be involved in magazine production, sub-editing, writing articles, and planning content. You will be a core part of the editorial team, working closely with (and being managed by) the RadCom Managing Editor.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning articles and liaising with authors
  • Sub-editing contributed copy and columns
  • Guiding content for RadCom Basics and RadCom Plus supplements
  • Participating in creating a weekly news script
  • Answering queries on technical and amateur radio licensing
  • Developing the RadCom portfolio, including new media opportunities

Ideal candidate qualities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is highly desirable
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm for technology, excellent English skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of radio and electronics, including amateur radio, is a plus
