Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Agile Delivery Manager for Data Programme to help set up and drive agile delivery within a newly forming team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing ways of working, configuring Jira, managing the backlog and burndown charts, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring smooth progress tracking and communication. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working in ambiguous environments, capable of establishing structure and process quickly, and comfortable guiding new teams from inception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish Agile ways of working for a newly formed delivery team.
- Must have delivered Data programme.
- Set up and manage Jira, including backlog creation, sprint planning, and burndown tracking.
- Work with stakeholders to manage expectations, dependencies, and priorities.
- Drive clarity and direction ahead of full team onboarding.
- Ensure communication and reporting of delivery progress to related departments.
- Collaborate with other team members already working in the domain for support.
- Work closely with interfacing departments, ensuring transparency on progress and backlog without direct ownership.
- Help define and track key deliverables, including data product outputs.
- Working ontology and aligned data products.
- Defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and handoff processes.
- Established Jira workflows and reporting structures.
- Support the implementation of the ongoing technology and people strategies within the team.
- Progress reporting for a 5-year transformation program (currently in Year 2).
- Support for operational data curation and Master Data Management (MDM) definitions in R&D contexts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading Agile delivery (Scrum Master / Agile PM / Delivery Lead).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a newly formed or evolving team.
- Experience with Jira, backlog management, and Agile reporting (e.g., burn downs).
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar data platforms is a plus.
- Previous experience in data product delivery, operational data workflows, or MDM/curation in R&D environments.
