We are working with an established and well-regarded London-based law firm who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Conveyancer / Conveyancing Team Leader to join their residential property team. This is a key hire within the business, offering the opportunity to take a hands-on role managing your own caseload while also supporting and developing a small team. The position would suit a commercially aware conveyancer who is confident handling the full transaction process and is looking to step into, or further develop, a leadership role within a growing and supportive firm.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Conveyancer / Conveyancing Team Leader:
- Lead and manage a team of conveyancers, providing day-to-day support, guidance, and oversight
- Oversee a reduced personal caseload of residential or commercial property matters from instruction through to completion
- Ensure all transactions are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with current legal and regulatory requirements
- Monitor team performance, supporting individuals to meet targets and maintain service standards
- Act as a key escalation point for complex cases, providing solutions and direction where needed
- Maintain high levels of client care, ensuring a professional and consistent experience throughout the process
- Support the ongoing development of the team, identifying training needs and encouraging progression
- Ensure workloads are effectively managed across the team to meet deadlines and service expectations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery
Key Requirements of the Senior Conveyancer / Conveyancing Team Leader:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience handling residential or commercial conveyancing matters end-to-end
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a team within a conveyancing environment
- Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions
- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance client service and business objectives
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident in supporting, developing, and motivating a team
