Trade Counter & Office Assistant

Location: High Wycombe Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 Job Type: Permanent Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm

We're looking for a friendly and organised Trade Counter & Office Assistant to join a well-established local business.

This is a varied role combining customer service, administration and trade counter duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys dealing with people and likes being busy.

Full training will be provided on the more technical aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities of the Trade Counter & Office Assistant

  • Welcome customers and provide a professional first point of contact.
  • Handle customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
  • Process customer orders, quotations and invoices.
  • Assist with trade counter sales and collections.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Receive deliveries and organise stock.
  • Produce delivery paperwork and support order processing.
  • Carry out general office administration.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure excellent customer service.

Key Requirements of the Trade Counter & Office Assistant

  • Previous administration and customer service experience.
  • Confident communicating with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Good IT skills and experience using office systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Friendly, reliable and proactive approach.
