We’re looking for an experienced Procurement & Supply Planner to join a growing business based in High Wycombe. This would suit someone with around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain who enjoys a hands-on role managing suppliers, stock levels and purchasing requirements. This is not a management position, but you will take ownership of your own purchasing activity and work closely with teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement & Supply Planner:
- Manage the purchasing of materials, components and equipment
- Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery
- Work closely with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and availability
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms and supply arrangements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
- Source and assess new suppliers when required
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery times and quality
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information
- Plan purchasing requirements based on customer demand, forecasts and stock levels
- Monitor inventory levels and help minimise excess or obsolete stock
- Expedite urgent orders and resolve any supply or delivery issues
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance
- Support cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Produce purchasing and supplier performance reports
Key Requirements of the Procurement & Supply Planner:
- Around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain
- Ideally experience within a manufacturing, engineering, electronics or similar environment
- Strong supplier management and negotiation experience
- Good understanding of stock control, inventory and demand planning
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems
- Confident working with purchasing data, forecasts and supplier performance
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially aware with a practical approach to problem solving
- Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams
- CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS would be advantageous but is not essential
- Full driving licence and own car for occasional supplier visits
