Location: High Wycombe

Salary: Around £45,000 p.a. DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm, 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Procurement & Supply Planner to join a growing business based in High Wycombe. This would suit someone with around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain who enjoys a hands-on role managing suppliers, stock levels and purchasing requirements. This is not a management position, but you will take ownership of your own purchasing activity and work closely with teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement & Supply Planner:

  • Manage the purchasing of materials, components and equipment
  • Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery
  • Work closely with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and availability
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms and supply arrangements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
  • Source and assess new suppliers when required
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery times and quality
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information
  • Plan purchasing requirements based on customer demand, forecasts and stock levels
  • Monitor inventory levels and help minimise excess or obsolete stock
  • Expedite urgent orders and resolve any supply or delivery issues
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance
  • Support cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Produce purchasing and supplier performance reports

Key Requirements of the Procurement & Supply Planner:

  • Around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain
  • Ideally experience within a manufacturing, engineering, electronics or similar environment
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation experience
  • Good understanding of stock control, inventory and demand planning
  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems
  • Confident working with purchasing data, forecasts and supplier performance
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Commercially aware with a practical approach to problem solving
  • Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams
  • CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Full driving licence and own car for occasional supplier visits
