JR Recruitment are looking for a practical and reliable Mechanical Installation Engineer / Site Fitter to join a well-established local engineering business. This is a hands-on, site-based role working on the installation, service and maintenance of specialist mechanical systems at customer sites across the UK. It would suit someone who enjoys practical work, is confident using tools, is happy travelling to different sites, and has experience with any of the following: ducting, ventilation, metalwork, pipework, site installation, steelwork, mechanical fitting or general engineering installation work.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Installation Engineer / Site Fitter:
- Carrying out mechanical installation work on customer sites
- Fitting and assembling ducting, pipework, metal sections and associated components
- Supporting the installation and maintenance of specialist site-based systems
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and confidently
- Reading and working from drawings, layouts and installation plans
- Working safely at height when required
- Replacing parts, filters and system components where needed
- Supporting site projects across different customer locations
- Working as part of a team to complete installations to a high standard
- Keeping work areas safe, tidy and compliant with site requirements
- Travelling to sites across the UK, with occasional nights away when required
Key Requirements of the Mechanical Installation Engineer / Site Fitter:
- Previous experience in a hands-on fitting, installation, engineering or construction role
- Experience with ducting, ventilation, pipework, steelwork, metalwork or mechanical installation would be beneficial
- Confident using hand tools and power tools
- Comfortable working on customer sites
- Able to follow drawings, plans or installation instructions
- Practical, reliable and willing to learn
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Flexible with travel and occasional stays away from home
- Full UK driving licence
