EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary for initially around 3 months

Full Time in the office

LOCATION: Loughborough

SALARY: dependent on experience

HOURS: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm

The Opportunity:

  • Our client is a leader in its industry and is seeking a candidate with knowledge and experience of purchasing/inventory management.
  • This role would be responsible for managing two Purchasing Assistants.
  • Involvement in implementing Sage 200 commercial modules for purchasing & stock.
  • Knowledge of month end stock counts is ideal.

  • Establish and build effective relationships with key suppliers.
  • Effectively manage all purchasing and associated operational aspects of inventory management.
  • Manage purchase orders and review delivery times to avoid unnecessary shortages.
  • Maintain a high level of internal customer service and manage the processing of delivery issues from suppliers.

Person profile:

  • Experience of purchasing/inventory management.
  • Sage 200 knowledge would be ideal.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel for analytical purposes.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Must possess excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills required in this buying role.
  • Ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A logical approach to problem solving.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
