JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for a strategic and positive Onboarding and Training Coordinator to lead, develop, and manage a well-established team. This brand-new Trainer role manages the integration, training, and ongoing assessment of all Operations personnel. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role combines hands-on instructional delivery with continuous compliance governance.
The coordinator is responsible for keeping the skills matrix active for both new and existing staff, enforcing Safe Systems of Work, and dynamically updating training protocols as operational needs change. You must have proven experience to support the Operations Manager. It is working for a highly successful, reputable company in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. You will perform tasks that are critical to the business. This will suit somebody who is already a Trainer, who can manage a dedicated team and lead from a strategic stance to enhance the workforce.
Role profile:
- Onboarding new employees and providing support, guidance, and training in the initial 3 months before signing off as competent operator
- Deliver hands-on practical instruction and licensing for Forklift Trucks and Overhead Cranes to all incoming personnel
- Ensure safe systems of work training on Machinery
- Run Core Safety Workshops and sessions covering Manual Handling techniques, First Aid protocols, and Mental Health First Aid awareness
- Run formal, structured practical assessments to sign off new hires as competent operators
Existing Staff Re-Assessment & Training Lifecycle:
- Schedule and conduct regular, mandatory refresher assessments for existing employees
- Identify long-term staff requiring updated operational training and schedule sessions before certificates expire
Compliance Governance & Safe Systems of Work (SSOW):
- Monitor the manufacturing area, ensuring employees adhere to SSOW
- Review and amend training programs, standard operating procedures, and safety sign-off sheets as and when site machinery, layouts, or regulations change
- Maintain the master plant skills matrix, logging all complete training records, assessment paperwork, and refresher schedules
- Provide regular compliance updates to the Operations Manager, flagging any workforce non-compliance or upcoming training bottleneck risks
Person profile:
- High level and experience of people management skills
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Certified trained trainer
- Qualified to deliver first aid and mental first aid training as well as manual handling
- Knowledge of auditing staff against SSOW
- Efficient at data and tracking
- Experience in high volume manufacturing environment
