Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen to be part of the team at the leading Fruit & Vegetable Wholesaler in Gateshead.
Based on The North East Wholesale Fruit & Vegetable Market, Team Valley, you will be working with an established team in an exciting and fast paced environment.
Our traders are the first point of contact for customers coming into the market as well as those placing orders over the telephone. You will manage customer accounts, driving growth and building relationships.
Responsibilities
- The role will include buying on a daily basis from suppliers both in the UK and Europe, ensuring the best prices are secured and stock is kept at the required levels.
- You will also be working with a team of warehouse porters ensuring orders are picked, packed and delivered on time.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role, or experience in fresh produce would be an advantage although full training will be given.
- Strong numeracy and IT skills are a must in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hours of work 2am until 10am (job and finish)
- Five days a week (every other Saturday)
- Company pension
- Bonus Scheme
- 20 days holidays
- Salary starting at £30k reviewed after 6 months on performance.
