Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and taxes.
- Collect and compile all financial information and communicate effectively with the management team.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements and reports including balance sheet, profit and loss, and budget.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve productivity, reduce costs and streamline processes.
- Perform financial analysis and reporting to management regularly.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Coordinate and prepare budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Monitor financial transactions and transaction processing to ensure quality control.
- Collaborate and communicate with external CPAs and auditors on a regular basis, particularly during annual audits, to ensure smooth and effective operations.
- Monitor the overall financial health of the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with QuickBooks online.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
