Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and taxes.
  • Collect and compile all financial information and communicate effectively with the management team.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements and reports including balance sheet, profit and loss, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve productivity, reduce costs and streamline processes.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to management regularly.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and strengthen internal financial controls.
  • Coordinate and prepare budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor financial transactions and transaction processing to ensure quality control.
  • Collaborate and communicate with external CPAs and auditors on a regular basis, particularly during annual audits, to ensure smooth and effective operations.
  • Monitor the overall financial health of the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with QuickBooks online.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
