The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.
This role is working within JPP Consulting Ltd who provide a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Our diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person who is willing to learn. GCSE Mathematics is essential as well as an interest in engineering. You must be diligent, accurate and have good written and verbal communication skills.
You will be working within a structures team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians, the role will be varied and will include:
- Technical support: Assisting in the preparation of technical drawings, design calculations, and other related documentation (e.g. drawing registers) for structural engineering schemes.
- Drafting, detailing and modelling: Using AutoCAD and other design software to produce detailed design drawings and models.
- Design development: Support the design process for structural elements of a scheme such as reinforced concrete, timber, steelwork, masonry and foundations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Quality assurance: Produce clear, well-presented drawings and other engineering documents and support the review and checking of drawings to ensure they meet internal quality standards.
- Client liaison: Occasionally assist in client meetings and design team meetings, presentations, and reporting as directed by senior team members.
- Site visits: Attend site visits under the supervision of senior team members to obtain site information and inspect progress of schemes (as required).
- Continuous learning: Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance technical skills, industry knowledge and understanding of role.
After completing your successful probationary period, there will be the opportunity for you to enrol at Coventry University and begin working towards your professional qualifications.
