As a Trading Services Specialist Loan Documentation - Vice President within the Loan Trading Documentation team, you will be responsible for secondary trade closing support for products including loans, claims, equity, bonds and other non-standard assets. Wholesale Loan Middle Office is a part of Wholesale Lending Services that primarily supports the European Credit Trading, and Syndicated Leverage Finance businesses within the Corporate and Investment Bank.
Job responsibilities
- Stay updated with knowledge of LMA Standard Terms & Conditions and other industry standards, to draft, second-check work and execute trading documentation (and other ad hoc documentation) on behalf of JPMorgan Chase.
- Work with front office traders and sales coverage, clients, counsel and operations to settle secondary loans, claims, equity, bonds and other non-standard asset trades.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage a trade portfolio across various lines of business while maintaining a clean aging profile.
- Review Loan Market Association (LMA) standard documents and other legal documents including trade confirms, assignment agreements, proceeds letters, participation agreements, cash collateral agreements, multilateral agreements and other non-standard documentation.
- Review credit agreements and other deal documentation, specifically assignability language.
- Identify and escalate issues to the front office trading assistants/traders/salespeople, in-house legal counsel and management, when necessary.
- Prepare weekly reports to track the status of open items and measure risk.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Syndicated loan experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to take initiative and self-motivate as well as work as part of a team.
- Extensive knowledge of loan-based software (LoanIQ, ClearPar).
- Extensive experience with LMA standard documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of the LMA Standard Terms & Conditions.
- Extensive knowledge of the trade lifecycle and/or experience supporting a trading business.
- Extensive knowledge with loans, claims, equity, bonds and other non-standard assets.
